CNC Turning
Our CNC turning is driven by a HAAS TL1 (2005). This machine is a tool-room machine that is fully CNC but is also conventional; it has a generous capacity of 400mm diameter by the chuck, 200mm over the saddle and 762mm of Z travel. Coupled with a high quality GRIP-TRU chuck, plenty of soft jaws and steadies a wide variety of components can be held and machined.
Programming can be done using the comprehensive INTUATIVE system, visual/quick code or CAD/CAM loaded via a USB stick. This excels in small batch, one-offs, prototypes, repairs and recon type work.
Thread repair software as well as manual chamfering via interpolation means the TL1 can be used to re-cut a variety of hydraulic pump/large engine valve seats.
The TL1 has manual tool change, which although slower allows for a larger number of tools to be set at any one time. It also excels at screw cutting and stock removal, offering high quality surface fnishes, size and geometry.
